Pantograph- Catenary system for BRTS in Western India

In the final year engineering project, I worked on a team project where we performed the kinematic analysis of the electric bus and pantograph, as well as dynamic analysis of the catenary system. We developed a working model of the pantograph-catenary system by designing a 1/18th scale RC bus, and automatically controlling the movement of the pantograph using a servo motor and RFID scanner. Based on the technical specifications and analysis, cost and emissions were calculated which indicated that the project is useful in the long run.
Hardware used: Arduino UNO, nRF24L01 transceiver module, L298N motor driver, PN532 NFC reader
