In this project, I worked in a team of 4, and we designed a plant health monitoring system that provided real-time soil moisture, soil temperature, and sunlight level for proper plant growth and how much water is required for its sufficient growth. We utilized the LM393 soil moisture sensor, DS18B20 Temperature sensor module, and LDR module to get the sensor data and provide the appropriate threshold values. We also integrated an automated watering system with Arduino MEGA via a relay module that activates a 12V water pump and water solenoid valve. We utilized ChatGPT, where the user inputs their plant species through a text interface, and the system queries GPT for personalized watering and sunlight requirements, which is later fed through Raspberry Pi and creates an interface between Raspberry Pi and Arduino MEGA, and based on the requirements, the automated watering system is triggered ON.
